VLC Multimedia Plug-in
File name: libvlcplugin.so
Version 0.9.9a Grishenko, copyright 1996-2007 The VideoLAN Team
http://www.videolan.org/
dpkg -L mozilla-plugin-vlc
confirms mozilla-plugin-vlc to be the provider of libvlcplugin.so
but I also have this -
VLC Multimedia Plugin (compatible Totem 2.26.1)
File name: libtotem-cone-plugin.so
The Totem 2.26.1 plugin handles video and audio streams.
dpkg -S /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libtotem-cone-plugin.so
tells me totem-mozilla is the provider of /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libtotem-cone-plugin.so
Should I have both plugins? I can stream from my webcam to mplayer on our lan, but have been unable to stream to a webpage.
Right-clicking on the plugin my browser renders tells me Totem Browser Plugin 2.26.1 is the one that loads for remote sites like
http://people.videolan.org/~dionoea/vlc ... height=240
(The playback of this movie requires a MMSH protocol source plugin which is not installed.)
and
http://vlc.revolunet.com/simple.html (play in VLC1 button works here)
thanks !
