VLC DVD error

Postby gilloz » 03 Dec 2008 18:35

I just installed Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. I also installed VLC for my default DVD player. Everytime I try to play a DVD I get a window with the following message: Unable to open'512'. When I go to Message in the tool bar, it says, No suitable access module for 512. Can anyone tell me what this means and how to correct it? Thanks

Ok, I found my problem. In using a How To instruction from the Ubuntu on how to make VLC my default player, they had me changing the command line in Properties of VLC to "vlc 512 %M", when it should have been only "vlc %m". The error message disappeared when I made the change. Thanks anyway j-b for your response.
